Virginia Furniture Market Distribution Center & Corporate Office in Rocky Mount, Virginia
is a new 121,600 square foot facility. The building is 36 feet high, 412 feet long, and 300
feet in depth. The scope of work consists of 91,000 square feet of high rack storage,
20,000 square feet of Shipping/Receiving with 24 loading docks, and 7,000 square feet of
corporate office area with two break rooms.

This was a team build project where MB led and coordinated the design teams, fire
protection consultant and rack consultant. This effort maximized the rack storage system
within a pre-defined building footprint that was limited by the parcel size/ shape and the
necessary civil design, while implementing a state-of-the-art fire protection system.

This project was completed in less than 9 months during a period when pandemic related
delays were a major challenge.
