The Roanoke County Department of Social Services building was built in the 1970’s. This 36,215 square foot, extensive renovation project consisted of a complete internal demolition and renovation on four of five floors. Renovations included repairing water damage and roof repair, adding new HVAC and fire protection, and installing telecommunications equipment which required extensive wire management and racking systems. Site work included resurfacing the parking lot. The building was fully occupied during construction and the renovation was phased as to not disturb on-going operations.
