PRECONSTRUCTION

Our partnership begins with preconstruction. During this critical phase, we get involved early, asking the right questions about project scope, costs and other factors that can greatly enhance the ability of the architect to design a building that meets your expectations.

In this phase, we make sure that clear, concise and accurate information is exchanged between the entire project team to ensure budgets and schedules are met. Being involved early enables us to identify and solve potential construction issues from the start, preventing problems during the construction process. This phase includes:

GENERAL CONTRACTING

General contracting has been at the core of MB Contractors since its inception. With the depth of skilled employees and subcontractors, MB can self-perform and/or manage the work of specialty contractors to meet the detailed plans and specifications of even the most demanding projects. With MB Contractors, our clients are assured quality throughout – not only from our team but all of our qualified and respected subcontractors and suppliers.

CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT AT RISK

Construction management, including construction management at risk (CM at Risk), has become the preferred construction method for many of our clients. As the construction manager, MB Contractors is brought on board at the same time the architect is commissioned and works closely with the project team throughout the entire process to anticipate needs and provide better control throughout the construction process. This approach to construction aligns with our unyielding focus on quality, collaboration and value.

DESIGN-BUILD

MB Contractors enjoys the same collaboration through Design-Build as we do with CM at Risk.  Through this method, we assume control of the design function, offering clients complete construction services with a single point of contact. MB Contractors works directly with design professionals to provide this service to our clients. Having a single source of responsibility can help decrease the overall project schedule and better manage the entire design and construction process, thereby reducing risk.

SUSTAINABLE LEED CONSTRUCTION

MB Contractors is proud to have completed the first Gold LEED Certified building in Roanoke, Virginia. But we didn’t stop there. With many more LEED buildings in our portfolio and a sustainability coordinator charged with incorporating sustainable design on all projects, LEED is now an integral part of our construction process.
